«كتاب الموتى» المصري في نسخة بردية آني، من القرن الثالث عشر قبل الميلاد: مجموعةُ الصِّيَغ التي كان يُراد لها أن تُرافق الميت في العالم الآخر.
السياق والتاريخ
والعنوان من وضع علماء المصريات المحدثين؛ أما المصريون فسمّوه «كتاب الخروج إلى النهار». وليس كتابًا واحدًا ولا نصًّا مقدّسًا ثابت اللفظ، بل ذخيرةٌ من مئتَي فصلٍ ونيّف، تنسخ كل بردية منها مختاراتٍ تُطلب وتُدفع أجرتها بحسب مقدرة المتوفّى. وبردية آني، كاتب طيبة، من أطول ما بقي وأجوده تصويرًا. والفصل المحوري هو الخامس والعشرون بعد المئة، فصل الحساب: يُوزن قلب الميت في مقابل ريشة ماعت، وهناك يتلو المتوفّى «الاعتراف السلبي»، أي قائمة ما لم يفعله. أما ترجمة والِس بَدج، سنة 1895، فهي التي نشرت النصّ في الغرب، وقد تجاوزها العلم كثيرًا: يُعتمد عليها بوصفها وثيقةً تاريخية من زمنها، لا بوصفها قراءةً لغوية راهنة.
