Context i història
El moviment del llibre va del dret abstracte —jo i una cosa meva— a la moralitat subjectiva, i d'alla a l'«eticitat» (Sittlichkeit), on la llibertat ja no es una exigencia sino una manera de viure institucionalitzada. La part sobre la societat civil es on Hegel constata que el mercat, deixat sol, genera riquesa i miseria alhora, i no sap resoldre-ho: un dels llocs on Marx va anar a buscar. El prefaci conte les dues frases mes citades i mes discutides: la del que es racional i real, i la del mussol de Minerva que alca el vol al capvespre. Hi ha lectors que hi han vist una justificacio de l'Estat prussia i n'hi ha que hi han vist el contrari; val la pena mirar-s'ho sense el resum.
