De què tracta
Una seleccio dels escrits de Zwingli, el reformador de Zuric, que va arribar a conclusions semblants a les de Luter pel seu compte i va trencar amb ell en un punt.
Context i història
Zwingli va comencar predicant a Zuric el 1519, dos anys despres de les tesis de Luter, i sostenia haver arribat a la seva posicio llegint Erasme i el Nou Testament en grec, no llegint Luter. Els seus «Seixanta-set articles» del 1523 son el programa de la Reforma suïssa. El punt de ruptura va ser l'eucaristia: per a Luter el cos de Crist hi es present realment, per a Zwingli les paraules «aixo es el meu cos» son una figura i el sagrament es un memorial. Els dos es van trobar a Marburg el 1529 i no es van entendre, i aquella divisio dura encara. Zwingli va morir amb quaranta-set anys, amb les armes a la ma, en una batalla entre cantons catolics i reformats.
