What it is about

On the Peace of Faith (1453): written weeks after the fall of Constantinople.

Context and history

While Europe called for crusade, Cusanus imagines a council in heaven where the representatives of every religion discover they are arguing about rites and not about faith. 'One religion in a variety of rites' is the formula. It is among the bravest texts of the fifteenth century. Text in LATIN: Cusanus's original, and the version to cite.

Editorial context, not a citable source: unlike the passages of the work itself, these statements cannot be checked against the corpus.
