Non è un testo di Epicuro ma una ricostruzione seicentesca, fatta quando l'Inghilterra stava recuperando l'epicureismo dopo secoli in cui era stato sinonimo di ateismo e di ingordigia. È un documento di quel recupero, non una fonte per Epicuro.
