============================================================ II Timothy ============================================================ 2Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus, 2Tim 1:2 to Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 2Tim 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers in a pure conscience, how unceasing is my remembrance of thee in my supplications, night and day 2Tim 1:4 longing to see thee, remembering thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 2Tim 1:5 having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in thee; which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and, I am persuaded, in thee also. 2Tim 1:6 For which cause I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee through the laying on of my hands. 2Tim 1:7 For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline. 2Tim 1:8 Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God; 2Tim 1:9 who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal, 2Tim 1:10 but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Saviour Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 2Tim 1:11 whereunto I was appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher.
2Tim 1:12 For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day. 2Tim 1:13 Hold the pattern of sound words which thou hast heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 2Tim 1:14 That good thing which was committed unto thee guard through the Holy Spirit which dwelleth in us. 2Tim 1:15 This thou knowest, that all that are in Asia turned away from me; of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. 2Tim 1:16 The Lord grant mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain; 2Tim 1:17 but, when he was in Rome, he sought me diligently, and found me 2Tim 1:18 (the Lord grant unto him to find mercy of the Lord in that day); and in how many things he ministered at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. 2Tim 2:1 Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2Tim 2:2 And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2Tim 2:3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
2Tim 2:4 No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier. 2Tim 2:5 And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully. 2Tim 2:6 The husbandman that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits. 2Tim 2:7 Consider what I say; for the Lord shall give thee understanding in all things. 2Tim 2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel: 2Tim 2:9 wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound. 2Tim 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 2Tim 2:11 Faithful is the saying: For if we died with him, we shall also live with him: 2Tim 2:12 if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we shall deny him, he also will deny us: 2Tim 2:13 if we are faithless, he abideth faithful; for he cannot deny himself. 2Tim 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.
2Tim 2:15 Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth. 2Tim 2:16 But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness, 2Tim 2:17 and their word will eat as doth a gangrene: of whom is Hymenæus and Philetus; 2Tim 2:18 men who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some. 2Tim 2:19 Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness. 2Tim 2:20 Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor. 2Tim 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, meet for the master’s use, prepared unto every good work. 2Tim 2:22 But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2Tim 2:23 But foolish and ignorant questionings refuse, knowing that they gender strifes.
2Tim 2:24 And the Lord’s servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing, 2Tim 2:25 in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth, 2Tim 2:26 and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will. 2Tim 3:1 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. 2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2Tim 3:3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, 2Tim 3:4 traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 2Tim 3:5 holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof: from these also turn away. 2Tim 3:6 For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, 2Tim 3:7 ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2Tim 3:8 And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.
2Tim 3:9 But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be. 2Tim 3:10 But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience, 2Tim 3:11 persecutions, sufferings; what things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: and out of them all the Lord delivered me. 2Tim 3:12 Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 2Tim 3:13 But evil men and impostors shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2Tim 3:14 But abide thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 2Tim 3:15 and that from a babe thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2Tim 3:16 Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness: 2Tim 3:17 that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work. 2Tim 4:1 I charge thee in the sight of God, and of Christ Jesus, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2Tim 4:2 preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 2Tim 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; 2Tim 4:4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables. 2Tim 4:5 But be thou sober in all things, suffer hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. 2Tim 4:6 For I am already being offered, and the time of my departure is come. 2Tim 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith: 2Tim 4:8 henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing. 2Tim 4:9 Give diligence to come shortly unto me: 2Tim 4:10 for Demas forsook me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 2Tim 4:11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee; for he is useful to me for ministering. 2Tim 4:12 But Tychicus I sent to Ephesus.
2Tim 4:13 The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, bring when thou comest, and the books, especially the parchments. 2Tim 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord will render to him according to his works: 2Tim 4:15 of whom do thou also beware; for he greatly withstood our words. 2Tim 4:16 At my first defence no one took my part, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their account. 2Tim 4:17 But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 2Tim 4:18 The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will save me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. 2Tim 4:19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus. 2Tim 4:20 Erastus remained at Corinth: but Trophimus I left at Miletus sick. 2Tim 4:21 Give diligence to come before winter. Eubulus saluteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren. 2Tim 4:22 The Lord be with thy spirit. Grace be with you.
Tit 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, Tit 1:2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before times eternal; Tit 1:3 but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour; Tit 1:4 to Titus, my true child after a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour. Tit 1:5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that were wanting, and appoint elders in every city, as I gave thee charge; Tit 1:6 if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly. Tit 1:7 For the bishop must be blameless, as God’s steward; not self-willed, not soon angry, no brawler, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; Tit 1:8 but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled; Tit 1:9 holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able both to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict the gainsayers. Tit 1:10 For there are many unruly men, vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision, Tit 1:11 whose mouths must be stopped; men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.
Tit 1:12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, idle gluttons. Tit 1:13 This testimony is true. For which cause reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, Tit 1:14 not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men who turn away from the truth. Tit 1:15 To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which befit the sound doctrine: Tit 2:2 that aged men be temperate, grave, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, in patience: Tit 2:3 that aged women likewise be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good; Tit 2:4 that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, Tit 2:5 to be sober-minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed: Tit 2:6 the younger men likewise exhort to be sober-minded: Tit 2:7 in all things showing thyself an ensample of good works; in thy doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, Tit 2:8 sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of us. Tit 2:9 Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing to them in all things; not gainsaying; Tit 2:10 not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. Tit 2:11 For the grace of God hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, Tit 2:12 instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world; Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Tit 2:14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works. Tit 2:15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
Tit 3:1 Put them in mind to be in subjection to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready unto every good work, Tit 3:2 to speak evil of no man, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all meekness toward all men. Tit 3:3 For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. Tit 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, Tit 3:5 not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, Tit 3:6 which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour; Tit 3:7 that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Tit 3:8 Faithful is the saying, and concerning these things I desire that thou affirm confidently, to the end that they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men: Tit 3:9 but shun foolish questionings, and genealogies, and strifes, and fightings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Tit 3:10 A factious man after a first and second admonition refuse; Tit 3:11 knowing that such a one is perverted, and sinneth, being self-condemned. Tit 3:12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, give diligence to come unto me to Nicopolis: for there I have determined to winter. Tit 3:13 Set forward Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. Tit 3:14 And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. Tit 3:15 All that are with me salute thee. Salute them that love us in faith. Grace be with you all.
Phlm 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker, Phlm 1:2 and to Apphia our sister, and to Archippus our fellow-soldier, and to the church in thy house: Phlm 1:3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Phlm 1:4 I thank my God always, making mention of thee in my prayers, Phlm 1:5 hearing of thy love, and of the faith which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all the saints; Phlm 1:6 that the fellowship of thy faith may become effectual, in the knowledge of every good thing which is in you, unto Christ. Phlm 1:7 For I had much joy and comfort in thy love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through thee, brother. Phlm 1:8 Wherefore, though I have all boldness in Christ to enjoin thee that which is befitting, Phlm 1:9 yet for love’s sake I rather beseech, being such a one as Paul the aged, and now a prisoner also of Christ Jesus: Phlm 1:10 I beseech thee for my child, whom I have begotten in my bonds, Onesimus, Phlm 1:11 who once was unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable to thee and to me: Phlm 1:12 whom I have sent back to thee in his own person, that is, my very heart: Phlm 1:13 whom I would fain have kept with me, that in thy behalf he might minister unto me in the bonds of the gospel: Phlm 1:14 but without thy mind I would do nothing; that thy goodness should not be as of necessity, but of free will.
Phlm 1:15 For perhaps he was therefore parted from thee for a season, that thou shouldest have him for ever; Phlm 1:16 no longer as a servant, but more than a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much rather to thee, both in the flesh and in the Lord. Phlm 1:17 If then thou countest me a partner, receive him as myself. Phlm 1:18 But if he hath wronged thee at all, or oweth thee aught, put that to mine account; Phlm 1:19 I Paul write it with mine own hand, I will repay it: that I say not unto thee that thou owest to me even thine own self besides. Phlm 1:20 Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my heart in Christ. Phlm 1:21 Having confidence in thine obedience I write unto thee, knowing that thou wilt do even beyond what I say. Phlm 1:22 But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I hope that through your prayers I shall be granted unto you. Phlm 1:23 Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus, saluteth thee; Phlm 1:24 and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow-workers. Phlm 1:25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
Heb 1:1 God, having of old time spoken unto the fathers in the prophets by divers portions and in divers manners, Heb 1:2 hath at the end of these days spoken unto us in his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds; Heb 1:3 who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Heb 1:4 having become by so much better than the angels, as he hath inherited a more excellent name than they. Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him a Father, And he shall be to me a Son? Heb 1:6 And when he again bringeth in the firstborn into the world he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. Heb 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels winds, And his ministers a flame of fire: Heb 1:8 but of the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; And the sceptre of uprightness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Heb 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Heb 1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of thy hands: Heb 1:11 They shall perish; but thou continuest: And they all shall wax old as doth a garment; Heb 1:12 And as a mantle shalt thou roll them up, As a garment, and they shall be changed: But thou art the same, And thy years shall not fail. Heb 1:13 But of which of the angels hath he said at any time, Sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet? Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation? Heb 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that were heard, lest haply we drift away from them. Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken through angels proved stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; Heb 2:3 how shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation? which having at the first been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed unto us by them that heard; Heb 2:4 God also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by manifold powers, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will. Heb 2:5 For not unto angels did he subject the world to come, whereof we speak. Heb 2:6 But one hath somewhere testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Heb 2:7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; Thou crownedst him with glory and honor, And didst set him over the works of thy hands: Heb 2:8 Thou didst put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he subjected all things unto him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we see not yet all things subjected to him. Heb 2:9 But we behold him who hath been made a little lower than the angels, even Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for every man. Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb 2:11 For both he that sanctifieth and they that are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Heb 2:12 saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, In the midst of the congregation will I sing thy praise. Heb 2:13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold, I and the children whom God hath given me.
Heb 2:14 Since then the children are sharers in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same; that through death he might bring to nought him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Heb 2:15 and might deliver all them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb 2:16 For verily not to angels doth he give help, but he giveth help to the seed of Abraham. Heb 2:17 Wherefore it behooved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted. Heb 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, even Jesus; Heb 3:2 who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house. Heb 3:3 For he hath been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by so much as he that built the house hath more honor than the house. Heb 3:4 For every house is builded by some one; but he that built all things is God.
Heb 3:5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken; Heb 3:6 but Christ as a son, over his house; whose house are we, if we hold fast our boldness and the glorying of our hope firm unto the end. Heb 3:7 Wherefore, even as the Holy Spirit saith, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Heb 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, Heb 3:9 Where your fathers tried me by proving me, And saw my works forty years. Heb 3:10 Wherefore I was displeased with this generation, And said, They do always err in their heart: But they did not know my ways; Heb 3:11 As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God: Heb 3:13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: Heb 3:14 for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end: Heb 3:15 while it is said, To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Heb 3:16 For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses? Heb 3:17 And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? Heb 3:18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient? Heb 3:19 And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief. Heb 4:1 Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it. Heb 4:2 For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard. Heb 4:3 For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Heb 4:4 For he hath said somewhere of the seventh day on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works; Heb 4:5 and in this place again, They shall not enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience, Heb 4:7 he again defineth a certain day, To-day, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said before), To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts. Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day. Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Heb 4:11 Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience. Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:13 And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Heb 4:14 Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Heb 4:15 For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need. Heb 5:1 For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: Heb 5:2 who can bear gently with the ignorant and erring, for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity; Heb 5:3 and by reason thereof is bound, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. Heb 5:4 And no man taketh the honor unto himself, but when he is called of God, even as was Aaron. Heb 5:5 So Christ also glorified not himself to be made a high priest, but he that spake unto him, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee: Heb 5:6 as he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever After the order of Melchizedek.
Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, Heb 5:8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered; Heb 5:9 and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation; Heb 5:10 named of God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Heb 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard of interpretation, seeing ye are become dull of hearing. Heb 5:12 For when by reason of the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need again that some one teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food. Heb 5:13 For every one that partaketh of milk is without experience of the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. Heb 5:14 But solid food is for fullgrown men, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil. Heb 6:1 Wherefore leaving the doctrine of the first principles of Christ, let us press on unto perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Heb 6:2 of the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit. Heb 6:4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, Heb 6:5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, Heb 6:6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Heb 6:7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: Heb 6:8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned. Heb 6:9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak: Heb 6:10 for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister. Heb 6:11 And we desire that each one of you may show the same diligence unto the fulness of hope even to the end: Heb 6:12 that ye be not sluggish, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Heb 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself, Heb 6:14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. Heb 6:15 And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise. Heb 6:16 For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation. Heb 6:17 Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath; Heb 6:18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us: Heb 6:19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil; Heb 6:20 whither as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. Heb 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
