Els fragments que Pascal va deixar per a una apologia del cristianisme que la seva mort va deixar sense escriure.
Context i història
Pascal va morir el 1662 als trenta-nou anys deixant centenars de fragments escrits per a una apologia del cristianisme que no va arribar a redactar. Alguns son paragrafs acabats, altres tres paraules; els va deixar lligats en feixos que donen indicis de l'ordre previst. Tot el que llegim, doncs, es una ordenacio feta per editors, i cada edicio ordena diferent —per aixo els numeros de fragment no coincideixen entre elles i cal dir sempre quina s'usa. Aqui hi ha l'aposta, el «cor te raons que la rao no coneix», l'home com a canya pensant, i el silenci etern dels espais infinits. AVIS: el catàleg conte DUES traduccions angleses d'aquesta mateixa obra, «Pascal's Pensées» i «The Thoughts of Blaise Pascal». No es cap error —son edicions diferents— pero convé saber-ho: un mateix fragment hi surt dues vegades amb paraules i numeracio distintes.
