De què tracta
El «Llibre dels morts» egipci en la versio del papir d'Ani, del segle XIII aC: el conjunt de formules que havien d'acompanyar el difunt pel mon dels morts.
Context i història
El titol es d'egiptolegs moderns; els egipcis en deien «Llibre de la sortida al dia». No es un llibre unic ni una escriptura sagrada amb un text fixat, sino un repertori de dos-cents i escaig capitols dels quals cada papir en copia una seleccio, encarregada i pagada segons les possibilitats del difunt. El d'Ani, escriba de Tebes, es un dels mes llargs i mes ben il·lustrats que s'han conservat. El capitol central es el 125, el judici: el cor del mort es pesa contra la ploma de Maat, i alli el difunt recita la «confessio negativa», la llista del que no ha fet. La traduccio de Wallis Budge, del 1895, es la que va difondre el text a occident, i esta molt superada: es fiable com a document historic de la seva epoca, no com a lectura filologica actual.
Context editorial, no una font citable: a diferència dels passatges de l'obra, aquestes dades no es poden contrastar amb el corpus.
