De què tracta
La «Wissenschaftslehre» de Fichte, del 1794: el primer intent de refer tota la filosofia de Kant a partir d'un unic principi.
Context i història
El titol angles despista una mica: «Wissenschaftslehre» vol dir «doctrina de la ciencia» en el sentit de fonament de tot saber, no una filosofia de les ciencies naturals. Fichte parteix de Kant i el troba inacabat: si la cosa en si es incognoscible, diu, no cal suposar-la. El seu punt de partida es l'acte pel qual el jo es posa a si mateix, i d'aqui deriva, per oposicio i limitacio, el no-jo i tota la resta. Es un dels textos mes dificils que hi ha, i Fichte el va reescriure moltes vegades sense quedar-ne mai satisfet. Sense ell no s'entenen ni Schelling ni Hegel. La traduccio de Kroeger es del segle XIX i correspon a la primera versio, no a les posteriors.
