Contro le punizioni corporali e contro l'attendere che il bambino sia «abbastanza grande»: Erasmo sostiene che l'educazione comincia subito e che dev'essere un piacere. È uno dei testi che hanno fatto la scuola moderna, e colpisce ancora la chiarezza con cui lo dice. Una traduzione inglese. Il latino di Erasmo, che è quello che va citato, nel catalogo c'è soltanto nell'antologia delle epistole.
