Lo stesso Böhme nella sua forma più breve e più chiara: un maestro e un discepolo discutono di come si esca dalla propria volontà. Fu il più diffuso dei suoi testi in inglese nel Sei e nel Settecento, e per quella via arrivò a William Law, ai quaccheri e, più tardi, a Blake.
