除柏拉图之外关于苏格拉底的另一个古代材料，而把两者对读就是所谓的「苏格拉底问题」：色诺芬笔下的苏格拉底务实、讲道德，而且相当合乎常规；柏拉图笔下的那个是形而上学家。哪一个更接近真人，人们争了二十四个世纪。 注意：这部作品出现了两次，一次用今天的书名，一次用旧题《The Memorable Thoughts of Socrates》。引用时请说明是哪一条。
