De qué trata
Una selección de los escritos de Zwinglio, el reformador de Zúrich, que llegó a conclusiones parecidas a las de Lutero por su cuenta y rompió con él en un punto.
Contexto e historia
Zwinglio empezó a predicar en Zúrich en 1519, dos años después de las tesis de Lutero, y sostenía haber llegado a su posición leyendo a Erasmo y el Nuevo Testamento en griego, no leyendo a Lutero. Sus «Sesenta y siete artículos» de 1523 son el programa de la Reforma suiza. El punto de ruptura fue la eucaristía: para Lutero el cuerpo de Cristo está ahí realmente presente, para Zwinglio las palabras «esto es mi cuerpo» son una figura y el sacramento es un memorial. Los dos se encontraron en Marburgo en 1529 y no se entendieron, y aquella división dura todavía. Zwinglio murió a los cuarenta y siete años, con las armas en la mano, en una batalla entre cantones católicos y reformados.
