Contexte et histoire
C'est la première traduction anglaise complète faite par un comité de juifs pour des lecteurs juifs, et la différence la plus sensible est l'ordre : le Tanakh suit Torah, Neviim, Ketouvim, et ne s'achève pas là où s'achève l'Ancien Testament chrétien. Qui y cherchera des chapitres selon la numérotation d'une Bible chrétienne rencontrera des décalages : non des erreurs, mais deux traditions de division du texte.
