फ़िलो हम तक अनेक स्वतंत्र निबंधों के रूप में पहुँचे हैं, और खंडों में बँटवारा उन्नीसवीं सदी के यंग के अंग्रेज़ी संस्करण का है, फ़िलो का नहीं। इसलिए काम का संदर्भ निबंध का शीर्षक और अनुच्छेद-संख्या है, खंड नहीं: उससे किसी भी संस्करण में मिलान हो सकता है। और पहले खंड वाली बात यहाँ भी लागू है: यह फ़िलो हम तक इसलिए पहुँचा क्योंकि ईसाइयों ने उसकी नक़ल की।
