这是最要紧的一部分。《伽萨》是十七首颂诗，所用的是一种古体伊朗语，远早于《阿维斯塔》其余部分，构成琐罗亚斯德教最古的内核：其中有一个第一人称的声音在说话，向阿胡拉·马兹达发问，并以后来在西方重新出现的方式提出恶的问题。《亚斯纳》是它们赖以传承的礼仪，《维斯佩拉德》则是为某些节庆所作的扩充。有两点须知：《伽萨》的语言极难，各家译文彼此出入甚大；而米尔斯一八八七年的译本，是一个时代的诠释，并非定本。
