《庄子》，继《道德经》之后道家的第二部大书，也是古代哲学典籍中最有趣的一部。
背景与流传
大约成书于公元前四世纪，且多半非出一手：前七篇即所谓“内篇”，传统上归于庄周。此书不作论证，只讲故事：庖丁解牛，刀刃从不磨砺，因其游于空隙；蝴蝶梦为人；无用之木，正因无用而得以尽其天年。其根本的意思是：我们用以切割世界的种种分别——有用与无用、大与小、生与死——是我们的，不是物的；而智慧就在于游走其间而不为所黏著。翟理斯一八八九年的英译年代已久，给它加上了一层书中本无的维多利亚语汇；读起来通顺，引用时须存此保留。
