背景と歴史
フィロンは多数の独立した論考として伝わっており、巻分けは十九世紀のヨンギ英訳版によるもので、フィロン自身のものではない。したがって役に立つ典拠は論考の題名と段落番号であって、巻数ではない。そうすればどの版でも確かめられる。第一巻で述べた点もそのまま当てはまる。このフィロンが残ったのは、キリスト教徒が書き写したからである。
