背景と歴史
ツヴィングリがチューリヒで説教を始めたのは一五一九年、ルターの提題の二年後だ。自分の立場に達したのはエラスムスとギリシア語新約聖書を読んでのことであり、ルターを読んでではない、と彼は言い張った。一五二三年の『六十七箇条』はスイス宗教改革の綱領である。決裂した一点は聖餐であった。ルターにとってキリストの体はそこに現実に臨在する。ツヴィングリにとって「これはわたしの体である」という言葉は比喩であり、聖礼典は記念である。両者は一五二九年マールブルクで会見したが折り合わず、その分裂は今日まで続いている。ツヴィングリは四十七歳、武器を手にして、カトリック諸州と改革派諸州との戦いのさなかに死んだ。
